Some children are eligible for the Medicare Enhanced Primary Care Plan which involves 5 sessions that will be rebated through Medicare. The Enhanced Primary Care Plan can be obtained through the child's GP however there are specific criteria which determines who is eligible. Please see: www.health.gov.au
Some Health Funds offer rebates for Allied Health therapies. Please contact your Private Health Fund to find out if they offer a rebate for Speech therapy services.
I recently became a mother and now know how busy the week gets! I am willing to offer a home-based therapy service for parents who really struggle to get to appointments (ie. If they have multiple children and no one to mind them whilst Mum/Dad are at the speech therapy appointment).
I like to have parents complete a questionnaire prior to bringing their child in for an assessment. This allows me to understand the child's health and developmental background, current functioning skills and parental concerns. This also saves time! It means that I don't have to spend time collecting all of this information at the first appointment – I already will have background information about your child and an indication of what your child is having difficulty with.
Please contact me to discuss your child and to obtain the Parent Questionnaire by email or mail.
Please provide 24 hours notice if your child is unable to attend their speech pathology appointment. The first cancellation without 24 hours notice will incur half fees ($45). Further cancellations without 24 will incur full fees.
